Huge crowds enjoy CRC Speedshow

Huge crowds enjoyed the opening day of the 2014 CRC Speedshow with many thousands of automotive fans heading to the eighth annual edition of New Zealand’s largest automotive and motorsport event. While the final count of show-goer numbers won’t be in until next week, given the busy display halls and packed grandstand during the Ideal Wheels live action arena entertainment, this year’s show looks to be at least as popular, if not more popular than the 2013 edition. Among the highlights of the opening day were:

– The New Zealand launch of the Ferrari 458 Speciale by Continental Cars Ferrari

– The New Zealand unveiling of brand-new Indian Motorcycle models from Polaris Industries

– The show debut of a completely hand-crafted Eleanor Mustang by Matamata Panelworks.

– A simulated car crash by Auckland Transport using a crane

– V8 SuperTourer star Simon Evans taking out the first leg of the two part Right Karts Celebrity Charity Kart Challenge

– Many thousands of people enjoying the opportunity to meet the future stars of New Zealand motorsport in the Kiwi Young Guns display supported by Total Lubricants.

The second day of this year’s CRC Speedshow opens 9am at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds and tickets are available at the gate.
