Huge crowds enjoyed the opening day of the 2014 CRC Speedshow with many thousands of automotive fans heading to the eighth annual edition of New Zealand’s largest automotive and motorsport event.While the final count of show-goer numbers won’t be in until next week, given the busy display halls and packed grandstand during the Ideal Wheels live action arena entertainment, this year’s show looks to be at least as popular, if not more popular than the 2013 edition.Among the highlights of the opening day were: – The New Zealand launch of the Ferrari 458 Speciale by Continental Cars Ferrari – The New Zealand unveiling of brand-new Indian Motorcycle models from Polaris more…

Continental Cars back special Porsche shootout at CRC Speedshow

A Porsche Cayman sporting the familiar and iconic Martini Racing livery will take centre stage in CRC Speedshow’s live action arena this weekend. In a fun challenge, five drivers will strive for their best lap time in the Porsche Cayman in the Continental Cars Supercar Challenge; this Top 5 Shootout forms part of the entertainment at the 19-20 July running of CRC Speedshow at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds. Hot rod? No, Volksrod!

Some hot rods are built simply for fun – but one created by Andy Connor of Silverdale almost smiles back at you – complete with surf board on top. Imagine a ‘glow in the dark’ hot rod. Well, if you go to the 2014 CRC Speedshow later this month, that’s exactly what you’ll see, thanks to Waiuku’s Luke Ennion. Ennion is one of eight South Auckland custom vehicle owners who are prepping and polishing their metal masterpieces being featured in the national event at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds over the weekend of 19 and 20 July.
