New Zealand Off Road Racing Championship
Radio Controlled racers bring miniature motorsport action to CRC Speedshow
Off-road racing buggies are miniature and their dashboards are hand-held radio-control units. But there's certainly no doubt that their racing rivalry is every bit as intense as any mainstream motorsport event when the third New Zealand Indoor Off-road Championship (NZIOC) takes place at July’s CRC Speedshow.
The two-day championship for radio-controlled, 1/10th scale electric racers is hosted by the North Harbour Radio Controlled Car Club (NHRCCC) and racing will be hot in this increasingly popular hobby-turned-sport.
A purpose-built racetrack inside the Logan Campbell Centre allows dozens of radio-control (RC) racing enthusiasts to participate in racing and hundreds more to enjoy the dizzying speed of antics from viewing points beside and above the track.
Specialist suppliers of RC racing equipment will be present to help you get into this super fun sport.
