Returning for its seventh spectacular year, the 2013 CRC Speedshow promises another huge variety of new and classic cars and motorcycles, race cars and bikes, and cool customs and hot rods. Add in the excitement of the live action arena, fun activities for the kids, competitions and all kinds of automotive-related products and services, and CRC Speedshow is a ‘must do’ weekend of automotive brilliance at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds.
CRC Speedshow’s global approach to sourcing exciting and innovative feature displays attracts exhibitors from all over New Zealand and Australia. This year, the 50th anniversaries of Lamborghini and the Porsche 911 result in very special line-ups of these coveted supercars just for CRC Speedshow fans.
Kiwi motorsport icons are recognised in a brand-new New Zealand Legends of Speed display, featuring the cars and bikes raced by Bruce McLaren, Burt Munroe, Chris Amon, Craig Baird, Denny Hulme, Emma Gilmour, Graeme Crosby, Greg Murphy, Ivan Mauger, Jim Richards, John Britten, Kenny Smith, Paul Radisich, Possum Bourne, Reece Fish, Rod Millen and Scott Dixon.
The 2013 event features a show-within-the-show in the first-ever Castrol EDGE Teng Tools Custom and Classic Show. Fifty of New Zealand’s best customised classics, muscle cars, hot rods, street machines, hi-tech imports and bikes are on show for the public to help judge the prestigious people’s choice award.
New cars and motorcycle models abound as do specialist equipment suppliers and experts from across the breadth of the automotive and motorsport sectors.
Also new for 2013, a free seminar series which covers a range of topics of interest to automotive and motorsport enthusiasts. Learn from the experts in these 20-30 minute sessions, with each topic being covered twice a day, both Saturday and Sunday.
Check out the Ezybuy Motor Warehouse live action arena for high octane action and demos from D1NZ drift stars, trials-bike experts and KartSport New Zealand. Test yourself on the latest racing simulators, enter a swag of great competitions, let the little kids – and the big kids – race slot cars, relax over a drink and a bite to eat and much more. There’s so much to entertain the whole family.
